Hearing Facts

Certain drugs and other substances are suspect in causing mild to severe hearing loss, tinnitus, or both.

Examples are alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, many soft drinks and some antibiotics. Hearing loss can also be hereditary, caused by aging or continued exposure to sounds rated higher than 85 decibels.
